  5.  1. The Son of God at a marriage.  John 2:1-11
  6.  In Cana of Galilee.
  7.  His humanity shown - one with the people in their feast.
  8.  His approval of marriage.  Heb. 13:4.  He performs a miracle and manifests 
  9.  His glory.
  10.  Note the expression "Mine hour".  Cf.  John 7:30; 8:20; 12:23,27; 13:1; 
  11.  17:1; Matt. 26:45; Mark 14:35,41; Luke 22:14.  His hour was the hour of 
  12.  His death.  Also the expression "Woman".  Cf.  John 19:26.  This was not 
  13.  irreverent. Jesus began His ministry of the miraculous at a wedding as a 
  14.  guest. He will consummate His ministry of the miraculous at His own 
  15.  wedding as the Bridegroom of the Church.  Eph. 5:22-33; 2 Cor. 11:2.

  17.  The Eternal Word enters into the social life of man.  He is one of them.  
  18.  He is the Son of man!

  20.  2. The Son of God cleanses the Temple.  John 2:12-25.

  22.  At the Passover, The Lord Jesus cleanses His Father's House.
  23.  Note how Jesus is perfectly human, one with man, yet not one with man's 
  24.  sinful ways.  He became one with man, but is absolutely at enmity with 
  25.  man's sin.  Compare this incident with Matt. 21:12-13; Mark 11:15-17 and  
  26.  Luke 19:45-46 where Christ cleanses the Temple at the close of His earthly 
  27.  ministry.  Who are the Temple of God today? 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19; 
  28.  2 Cor. 6:16; Eph. 2:21.

  30.  The Great Sign of the Son of God is His death and resurrection! 
  31.  Matt. 12:39-40  This is the basis for His authority.  John 2:18-19.
  32.  His Body is the Temple of God.  See Col. 2:9;  John 14:10.
  33.  The Son of God must die and rise again to cleanse man and make Him a 
  34.  temple of God.
  35.  Jesus prophesies that His physical body would be destroyed by the Jews but 
  36.  that in three days He would raise it up.  He declares that His body of 
  37.  flesh and bone would rise from the dead!  The resurrection of Jesus from 
  38.  the dead is a sure fact declared by the Son of God Himself.

  42. At His trial and crucifixion His enemies distorted this saying of Christ.
  43. Examine Matt. 26:61 and Mark 14:58.  Also Matt. 27:40 and Mark 15:29.  Satan
  44. hates the physical resurrection of Christ from the dead.  Cf. 1 John 4:2-3; 
  45. 2 John 7.

  47. When He was risen from the dead His disciples remembered this saying, and
  48. believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had said.  John 2:22.

  50. Christ knows the hearts of all men.  John 2:24-25;  Heb. 4:12-13.

  52. The Eternal Word manifests His holiness and His purpose to separate man 
  53. from sin and to make him the temple of God.
